Team Losi Racing’s Dustin Evans and young talent Michal Orlowski completed the 2WD Buggy podium at the first round of the 2012/13 EOS, Evans taking the win in Leg 3 ahead of 11-year-old Orlowski and team-mate Darren Bloomfield who led the race early on until a mistake. With Neumann having already claimed the overall win following the decision to correct the result of Leg 2 allowing him to sit out the final encounter, it was Evans who led away the field. Initially passed by Bloomfield, the American regained the lead on lap 3 and looked to have the race under control. On lap 10 of 16 he put his 22 on its roof allowing the very steady Orlowski to close right up, the Tamiya taking the lead a lap later when Evans had another moment. Holding off the professional driver for three laps, Orlowski got passed with three laps to go but finishing second in front of a huge home crowd the result was enough to secure the Polish racer third overall on tie break with Bloomfield who was classified fourth overall.
